A classic appetizer that’s surprisingly easy to make at home:
Ingredients:
- One large onion sliced into rings
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 cup panko bread crumbs
- Salt and pepper
- Optional: cayenne pepper or herbs
Preparation: Set up three bowls: one with flour seasoned with salt and pepper; second with beaten eggs; third with panko crumbs mixed with seasonings. Dip each onion ring first into flour, then egg wash, then coat thoroughly with panko mixture.
Cooking: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray the basket or rings themselves with cooking spray. Place onion rings carefully inside without overcrowding; cook for about 10–12 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
Tips: Use panko bread crumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs—they create a crunchier coating. Serve immediately for best texture.
